Polyphonic
Choir "Angelicus" is a cultural, associative and musical
reality which has been gaining a paramount importance in Valle dell'Irno
and many other places. Set up in November 1995 by Michele Zabaroni, as the true musical group serving
the religious community of Pandola, a little place of Mercato San
Severino administrative territory, Polyphonic Choir "Angelicus"
is nope a very busy musical, artistic and cultural association directed
since 1997 by Maestro Aniello Napoli who ad succeeded in providing
Choir "Angelicus" with an outstanding range of polyphonic
and choral songs and sonatas both religious and secular.
Constantly
involved in a vocal and instrumental research, Choir "Angelicus"
is always busy in promoting polyphonic music whole in Campania.
To initial choice for sacred and antique vocalities, the Choir as
been adding outstanding choral songs from classical and modern fields,
ranging from the 16th century to the coral pages from operas in
1800, including as well old Neapolitan songs, especially arranged
for 4 voices.
Polyphonic Choir "Angelicus", made up of 30 members, has
no-profit targets and aims at exchanging human, cultural and musical
experiences.
The
Choir has taken part in numerous concerts and musical events, all
over Campania, thus achieving great fame and a considerable success.
Thanks to its great musical and successful experience, the Choir
took part in the international musical event " Advent songs
in Prague", held in the capital city of Czech Republic, from
November 29th to December 2nd , 2002.
On that occasion, the Coir, representing Campania, Salerno and Mercato
San Severino n a foreign Country where music is great par of its
culture and history, was in close touch with choirs from all over
the world. In Prague, Polyphonic Choir "Angelicus" aroused
great and general enthusiasm by singing traditional and religious
Christmas carols and old Neapolitan songs famous all over the world.
